Seasonal Special Happenings

In a League of Her Own

When: Wed., July 8 2015

Baseball has traditionally been a man's world. But one woman tried to change all that. Dr. Alta Weiss put herself through medical school playing professional baseball on a men's team in the early 1900s. Theatrical storyteller Bette Lou Higgins shares Weiss's story tonight at You Can't Play Ball in a Skirt, a special program at the Maltz Museum. The program includes admission to Chasing Dreams, the current exhibit about minorities in baseball. The lecture begins at 7. Tickets are $12, $6 for members. (Niesel)
