Slavic Village was one of the most devastated areas following 2008’s foreclosure crisis. In an effort to continue the conversation around vacancy and the current state of Cleveland’s historic neighborhoods, Slavic Village Development presents its second Rooms to Let: CLE (RTL). Slavic Village Development selected a new group of curators to receive homes throughout the neighborhood. Each curator assembles a team of artists to transform the house into an enveloping art installation. This year’s curators include Sai Sinbondit (Designer at Bialosky+Partner Architects and faculty at Cleveland Institute of Art) Amy Krusinski Sinbondit (ceramics/sculpture artist and Technical Specialist/Adjunct Faculty at Cleveland Institute of Art), Dana DePew (artist/curator), Rian Brown (filmmaker, video artist and Associate Professor of Cinema Studies and New Media at Oberlin College) and Scott Pickering (artist). RTL includes a block party with live music, interactive art activities and local food vendors. Events take place today and tomorrow.
