If life were like a movie, every Saturday afternoon at the record store would be like that scene in High Fidelity where John Cusack plays the Beta Band EP, and everyone starts grooving, and eyes meet, and bonds immediately form. But it seldom goes down like that — which is why the good folks at indie record store Music Saves have organized Indie Rock Singles Night. Now you don't have to feel all skeevy about talking to the girl with the black plastic glasses frames or the boy with the ironic Iron Maiden shirt and a neck tat. You won't be interrupting their shopping; they really do want to strike up a conversation about the Arcade Fire. Chat up some cool new people in between trivia contests and food by the Melt Bar & Grilled and Guy's Pizza. It's a great chance to meet new friends, concert buddies, or dates. Making out in the stairway is optional.
