Seasonal Special Happenings

Intergalactic and Planetary

When: Thu., Jan. 30 2014

An unusual marriage of comic books and radio dramas, The Intergalactic Nemesis is certainly a unique experience. While intricately drawn comic panels are projected, three voice actors play a variety of characters and a live Foley artist creates sound effects; a single keyboardist provides the score. This minimalist show carries the style of early radio but with an engaging visual aspect. By creating the show in this way, it avoids some of the pitfalls other comic book theater adaptations fell into (mainly the U2 rock-musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark). The show takes place tonight at 7:30 at the Palace Theatre. Tickets are $10 to $25. (Patrick Stoops)
