Perry, Dana, Maureen, and everyone at the diner always treated my family like their family. When my kids come home from college, the first place they want to go when we go out is the Diner. The Diner is OUR place, always has been. That corner will not be the same without them, and we will be loyal customers of wherever they land. I just hope it is in Lakewood, or in the Clifton neighborhood.
I wish them much success with their new venture. Chas and Gordon are great civic boosters who engage with the community where they do business in a very positive sense. Geiger's has customer service like no other business you will ever experience. I have been a loyal customer for nearly 30 years and there are some things that I will consider buying from them. If they do for Cleveland what they have done for Lakewood, Cleveland and downtown in particular will be much better off and we may actually have downtown retail again!
Maybe Scene could hire the editors from Ed Fitzgerald's latest venture. There were noticeably fewer mistakes and typos than in your average issue of Scene.
Yet another hack opinion screed masquerading as news. If you want to be an alternative to the PD (with diminishing interest in any journalistic standards) why not employ a little professional journalism? This city desperately needs real journalism.
synopsis: take twelve odious, immature, arrogant hipsters and tell them you want their "sophisticated" west-coast take on exotic, primitive foods eaten by those backwater rubes in Ohio such as chocolate, peanut butter, chili/spaghetti, and I think something really foreign and ethnic sounding like sauerkraut and wait for their smug critique. Hilarity ensues. Boy that filmmaker really showed us!
venue fix. have half the venue stand (left side) and have the venue sit (right side) and pick your poison when you buy your ticket. win-win. has no venue considered such a fix?
