Juicy J/Belly/Project Pat

When: Thu., March 9, 7 p.m. 2017

Grammy-nominated, Oscar-winning Juicy J is 25 years into his rap career but still shining in the limelight. A founding member of the Memphis-based crunk group Three 6 Mafia, J’s gritty, weed-laced lyrics helped them garner two platinum plaques, highlighted by 2005 effort The Most Known Unknown and its standout tracks, “Stay Fly” and “Poppin’ My Collar.” After snagging an Academy Award for Best Original Song with the group for Hustle and Flow’s “Hard Out Here for a Pimp,” J split off to focus on a solo career characterized by adaptability and reinvention. Alongside smash hits like “Bandz A Make Her Dance,” the Tennesean has collaborated with the industry’s biggest names – including Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, Kanye West, and Justin Timberlake – to keep with the zeitgeist, even topping charts internationally on Katy Perry’s single, “Dark Horse.” Juicy J will perform with older brother and frequent collaborator Project Pat. Palestinian-Canadian rapper and Roc Nation hitmaker Belly supports. (Lawrence Neil)
