Keep on Truckin'

When: Sat., Feb. 14 2015

Feld Motor Sports’ More Monster Jam, a tour that features some of the best-known monster truck drivers in the country, arrives at Quicken Loans Arena today for its annual competition. The show has a brand-new concept and will include the debut of two new competition vehicles — extreme Monster Jam Speedsters and Monster Jam ATVs. That’s fine with Bailey Shea Williams, who drives the popular-with-the-kids Scooby Doo truck. Though she grew up doing dance and gymnastics, she rode ATVs as a kid. “I was a closet tomboy,” says Williams, who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when she was a child and was told she wouldn’t live long. “I hated being a girlie girl and dressing up. I started racing when I turned 15 and everyone thought I was a boy so I changed to a girlie girl that day. As soon as I switched to a male sport, that’s when I became a girl.” She’ll be making her Monster Jam debut. The event takes place today at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and tomorrow at 1 and 6 p.m. Tickets start at $20 for adults. (Niesel)
