Accessing property is still an issue. I'm looking into a small lot across from my house to start a small orchard. Because it's not adjacent to my house I can't buy it through the 'side lot' program. I can get permission to use it for community gardening but there is no guarantee that I'll have access to it forever. Since I want to start something that is truly long-term, I don't want to risk making the investment and one day having it taken from me.
