Partying hard is universal. Whether you're in Spain or Australia, people are people and parties are parties. That's why no one really cares that Les Breastfeeders sing most of their songs in French. The Montreal quintet jumps around manically while cranking out the kind of dirty '60s garage rock that leaves audiences reeling. It doesn't really matter that you can't understand a damn word they're singing. The band's two albums certainly show off its punkier side, but onstage is where Les Breastfeeders really come alive. Luc Brien and Suzie McLelove split vocals, while guitarist Sunny and bass player Joe pile on ragged, fuzzed-out riffs. Johnny Maldoror simply kills on the tambourine, often sporting nothing more than pants and a furry vest in concert. That translates in any language.
