Witches and warlocks will be looking for love tonight at the inaugural Goddess Blessed Singles’ Night. “A lot of my clientele are single and looking for like-minded individuals,” says Kathy Curran, owner of the Goddess Blessed bookstore in Lakewood. “They came up with the idea of having an event where they could mingle. Of course, alcohol always helps.”

To relax nerves, patrons can play Chakra Shots, in which they reach into a cloth bag and pull out a stone to determine what drink they’ll take. Between shots, Miss Mai tells fortunes, and Curran shows off her Pagan-influenced Witchywear clothing line of T-shirts and hoodies. “They’re for people who worship Mother Earth,” she says. Of course, Curran knows better than anyone how tough it can be for pagans to find partners. “It’s [meeting] someone who would honor your beliefs or can resonate with you on many levels,” she says. “What you’re attracted to is attracted to you.”
