During the past two decades, Doro Pesch invented the metal tango, proclaimed “I Rule the Ruins,” and crowned herself the Metal Queen. The German singer just released 20 Years: A Warrior Soul, a DVD featuring live performances and backstage footage. The 43-year-old Doro fronted Warlock when she was barely out of her teens. Solo, she’s enthusiastically sported many of the genre’s staples – including a large wardrobe of leather-and-chains getups. While recent disciples of Lucifer like Otep Shamaya make Doro’s hard rock seem sorta domesticated by comparison, the Metal Queen got there first.
