When: Sat., Sept. 1 2012
Everyone’s doing the “buy local” thing these days. Hale Farm & Village is offering its own version of that with its one-day Made in Ohio Craft Festival. Eighty vendors will be offering everything from locally made arts and crafts to locally grown foods from farmers and chefs. Since Hale celebrates the traditional crafts, trades, and culture of the 19th century Western Reserve, it’s an appropriate showcase for handmade wares — and for appreciating the benefits of modern technology and science. Visitors can compare and contrast the present and the past: Hale’s gardens and historic structures will be open for touring with their usual demos of early Ohio agriculture, cooking, and crafts like weaving and candle-making. The crafts fest runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5, which includes access to all Hale Farm & Village attractions.
