Meeting of the Minds

When: Thu., Aug. 8, 5 p.m. 2013

For 35 years now, the Hospice of the Western Reserve has provided critical care to residents of Northeast Ohio. To celebrate the anniversary, its annual meeting will be free and open to the public.. It'll feature speeches by guests Michael Heaton and Austin Carr. Also known as the Minister of Culture, Heaton is best known for the allegedly hilarious Tweets he posts about popular culture and Carr is a former Cleveland Cavalier who provides colorful play-by-play for the team. Genesis guitarist Daryl Stuermer (he played with Phil Collins in the '80s and then toured with Genesis), will play an acoustic set, and he'll perform a benefit concert tomorrow night at the Beachland Ballroom. Tonight's event starts at 5 p.m. and admission is free. Tickets to the Beachland concert, which starts at 8 p.m., are $35-$50 (but you can shell out $150 for a meet and greet experience).
