Music Around Town

Miranda Lambert/Dierks Bentley/Gwen Sebastian/Brett Eldredge

When: Sat., Aug. 10, 7 p.m. 2013

Miranda Lambert and her husband Blake Shelton have been in the spotlight recently for having difficulties with their relationship, but that hasn’t stopped the country stars from going on tour. You won’t be seeing them together on this tour since Lambert takes the Blossom stage today alongside Dierks Bentley. This cute blonde heartthrob is more than just a pretty face. Her sassy take-no-shit attitude makes for energetic guitar-driven songs such as “Gunpowder & Lead” in which she boasts and blairs the chorus: “I'm going to show him what little girls are made of, gunpowder and lead.” She’s able to mix that sort of sass with beautiful soft ballads and an amazing voice that makes her one of the best female country artists out there today. Bentley plays simple pop country with typical ballads sure to please fans of the experienced artist. He recently worked with Brad Paisley on Paisley’s 2013 album and has a new single, “Bourbon in Kentucky,” that would be forgettable if it weren't for the Southern heartbreak line “there ain’t enough bourbon in Kentucky for me to forget you.” (William Hoffman)
