Neck of the Woods

When: Fri., June 23 2017

The Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory & Educational Foundation hosts both an artist talk and opening reception this Friday evening. From 6 to 9 tonight, the Morgan Conservatory hosts an opening reception for its latest exhibition, Neck of the Woods, featuring new and recent work by Samantha Parker Salazar, Andrea Peterson, Gaylord Schanilec and Lisa Schonberg. At 7 p.m. during tonight’s reception, the Morgan Conservatory presents an artist talk with its current artist-in-residence Hong Hong. Hong Hong was born in Hefei, China, but currently lives and works in Connecticut and upstate New York. She earned her BFA from the State University of New York at Potsdam, before receiving her MFA from the University of Georgia in 2014. During her talk, Hong Hong will discuss her multidisciplinary practice, which includes printmaking, sculpture and installation. Following tonight’s reception, Neck of the Woods remains on view through Saturday, July 29, and Hong Hong’s residency at the Morgan Conservatory continues through August 6. Admission is free.
