Don’t you hate it when your only hours of freedom come after dark? Lucky for you, staffers at Peninsula’s Century Cycles have a solution: the popular night rides along the Towpath Trail. “The Towpath is a whole new experience at night,” says staffer Doug Charnock. And it’s one that can include anything from chirping tree toads to invisible potholes. “We encourage all skill levels to come out. But we recommend new riders maybe try out the trail first in daylight.” For tonight’s 8 p.m. ride, pedal pushers are advised to bring their own bikes, have a working headlight, and wear helmets. The 12- to 15-mile jaunt is free, but participants (16 and older, please) are required to sign a release form. Call or visit the website for directions, safe riding tips, and dates for the season's remaining rides.
