Night Terrors

When: Thu., Feb. 5 2015

The debut film by Ana Lily Amirpour, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night has been described as “the first Iranian Vampire Western ever.” It follows the Girl (Sheila Vand), a lonesome vampire who lives in Bad City, an Iranian ghost-town. The townspeople aren’t aware that they are being stalked by the Nosferata. The film’s black-and-white style adds a menacing and eerie tone, cranking up the creepy factor of the Girl’s movements and black chador. The film plays tonight at 6:45 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $9. (Harp)
