Sgt. Pepper and his Lonely Hearts Club Band will storm the stage tonight at the Cuyahoga County Fair. Well, not exactly. But the ReBeats, the first Beatles tribute band ever to play the House of Blues, will perform as part of the North Coast BeatleFest. They’ve not only recreated a ’60s experience, they have a good hook too. Tipping their hats to The Partridge Family, the ReBeats all share the same faux surname — Sam Beat, Jack Beat, Rick Beat, Geoff Beat, and — of course — the band’s go-go dancing female singer, Heart Beat. Rick “Beat” Montanari leads the crooning crew. “We all saw the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show and thought, ‘Wow, I want to do that.’ The Beatles worked themselves into culture throughout the world. Their music should be kept alive.” Three other Beatle tribute bands — Revolution Pie, Hard Days Night, and Liverpool Lads — will also perform. Attendees to tonight’s concert can also buy memorabilia and listen to tales from George Shuba, one of Cleveland’s first rock photographers. It all happens from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at the fair’s Grandstand. Admission runs $8 to $20 and is in addition to general fairgrounds admission of $6. Learn more on the website.
