When: Fri., June 17 2016

A feature length documentary on “one of the strangest all-star projects” in the history of cinema, Notfilm centers on the making of Film, a movie written by playwright Samuel Beckett. By using “previously unheard of audio recordings of production meetings” and rare outtakes, director Ross Lipman creates a “feature-length film essay” on the making of the movie. It screens tonight at 8:45 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque, where it shows again at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $10, $8 for members. (Wohler)
