Seasonal Special Happenings

On the Wine Trail

When: Fri., Feb. 4 2011

Some trails are marked with crumbs; others are strewn with tears. Frankly, we prefer the kind that are lined with wine and chocolate. That's what you'll find on the Chocolate Is for Lovers Wine Trail, a self-guided trek that takes you and your snuggle-buddy past 14 Northeast Ohio wineries. Among the participating grape farms: Debonne Vineyards in Madison, Ferrante Winery in Geneva, and Emerine Estates in Jefferson. You pick your first stop when you make your reservations: That's where you'll collect complimentary Schott Zwiesel wine glasses and a candy dish. Then you're free to wander at will, sampling wines, apps, and chocolate candies from Geneva's Sedar-D's Chocolates at every stop. The $45-per-couple wine tour runs from noon to 6 p.m. today, and repeats tomorrow and next weekend, February 11 and 12. For details and reservations, visit or call 800-227-6972. — Cicora
