Out of Time

In Spaces’ Time Flies exhibit, local artist Jean Alexander Frater explores the concept of progression through gaps, shifts, and destination points. The exhibition -- part of the gallery’s SpaceLab series -- is set up like a timeline. Paintings are connected by fragments of other works. For example, a hanging canvas is linked to smaller pieces that lead to other paintings. The display supports the idea that everything follows some sort of pattern, even though the interlocking pieces often suggest otherwise.
