Paradise Found

When: Tue., Oct. 15 2013

The second in director Ulrich Seidl’s Paradise trilogy, Paradise: Faith, follows the evangelical exploits of a fanatical Catholic in Austria and screens tonight at the Capitol Theater in conjunction with the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. The Cinematheque folks claimed it was the best film they saw at the Cleveland International Film Festival and contains scenes that will “stay with you for years.” It’s 18+ tonight, so do expect some explicit sexual content to go along with the self-flagellation and whatnot. It’s also sort of a black comedy, so expect to giggle even as you wince. Though the film is part of a trilogy, each segment stands alone, so you need not scour Wikipedia beforehand. The movie starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10 (unless you’re 25 or under, in which case tickets are only $7). (Allard)
