Jerry Springer stopped in after a campus lecture. Congressman Tim Ryan made a campaign stop there. And Playboy named it College Bar of the Month shortly after its 2001 opening. But Glory Days in Kent is shuttering its doors on North Water Street this weekend and heading into a two-story building on South Water Street at the end of the month. The club's specialty is body shots: generous pours of booze lapped out of barmaids' navels. Even cash-poor coeds manage to get tanked -- if they donate their undergarments to the lingerie collection behind the bar. And the drinks are dirt cheap: $1.50 for a Long Island Iced Tea, for starters. Glory Days' farewell party starts at 7 tonight at 252 North Water Street in Kent; call 330-677-0700. -- Cris Glaser
Pony Up
SAT 5/10
When it comes to fund-raisers, Akron Children's Hospital is long on horse sense. Since last fall, teams of artists have decorated 81 fiberglass colts, which are being displayed all over Ohio this summer before being auctioned off. Tonight at 6, the four-foot colts will be rounded up for a "victory gallop" at Horse of a Different Color Colts, a party/fund-raiser for the children's heart and cancer centers. One colt's been corralled at Blossom Music Center, where performers are adding their autographs throughout the summer; another was shipped to spring training in Florida for a Yankees team autograph. Horse of a Different Color Colts takes place at Lock III Park, between Main and Bowery Streets in Akron. Tickets are $8 and $20; call 330-543-8340. -- Cris Glaser
Come on Down
The price is always right at Game Show Night.
SUN 5/11
At 6 foot 5 and pushing 300 pounds, Gerry Keating broke the mold of cruise-ship cabaret singers. But these days, "Big Daddy" Keating is the Pat Sajak of the gay club circuit, host of the weekly Game Show Night at the Grid. The free programs rotate every Sunday: Keating coaxes answers out of couples in "The NewlyWood Game," listens to friends dish dirt in "Tattle Tails," and plays Gene Rayburn in the "Strike-a-Match Game." Sure beats Reality TV. Game Show Night takes place at 11 tonight at Grid/Orbit, 1437 St. Clair Avenue; call 216-623-0113. -- Cris Glaser
