Beer plus caged creatures: What could go wrong?

You’d better keep count of the number of Dortmunder Gold Lagers you down at tonight’s Zoo Brew bash at the zoo. Organizers will eventually lead revelers on tours that feature up-close-and-personal visits with some of the venue’s wildest animals. Getting belligerent with one of them may not be a very good idea.

The Great Lakes Brewing Company provides the beer at the event, which is part of the popular Tails and Cocktails tasting series. Look for faves like Commodore Perry India Pale Ale, Holy Moses White Ale, and Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. Plus, the seasonal Great Lakes Oktoberfest will make one of its first appearances of the year. Great Lakes chefs will also be on hand to hook up all those tasty beverages with specialty dishes. Just watch what kind of meat you’re snacking on in front of some of the animals. They may not take lightly to your munching on Uncle Bill.
