Peter Wolf & the Midnight Travelers

When: Tue., June 7, 8 p.m. 2016

Back in the ‘70s and ‘80s, singer Peter Wolf regularly notched Top 40 hits with the J. Geils Band. Influenced by soul, R&B and rock, his new album, A Cure For Loneliness, includes nine new tunes, four of them co-written with Grammy and Academy Award-winning songwriter Will Jennings. The album opens with the somber, blues “Rolling On.” He channels Dylan on the harmonica-driven “It Was Always So Easy (To Find an Unhappy Woman).” He even reworks the J. Geils Band’s “Love Stinks,” turning it into a bluegrass ballad. Expect to hear these songs and more at tonight’s anticipated show. (Niesel)
