Seasonal Special Happenings

Prose from the Pitts

When: Tue., Feb. 4 2014

Tonight’s monthly Brews and Prose reading — get drunk like Hemingway while listening to regional literary celebs at Market Garden Brewery! — features George Bilgere, a poet and teacher at John Carroll University, and Audrey Hirsch, a short fiction writer. Bilgere’s newest collection Imperial was just published by the University of Pittsburgh Press and is reportedly visceral and intimate and masterful in all sorts of cerebral ways. Hirsch teaches writing at the University of Pittsburgh, so count on some really first-rate banter in between selections. As always, the reading is free and open to the public. Beers, regrettably, are not free but also open to the public. Readings begin at 7 p.m. (Allard)
