Rumor has it the most effective way to stay warm (assuming you’re outdoors, and don’t have immediate access to a blanket or stone hearth) is physical activity. Get that blood circulating, folks. And there’s nothing quite like running for a charitable cause amidst a brisk, early morning autumnal chill . This particular morning, grab your running shoes and head over to Saint Martin de Porres High School at East 60th and St. Clair for a 5K run benefiting Saint Martin de Porres. Saint Martin’s is the innovative school for “students of modest means” which gives them a college preparatory curricular experience while teaching them on-the-job skills via work-study positions that defray tuition costs. The 5K run, which costs $25 on race day ($20 if you’ve magically already mailed it in) starts at 9 a.m. (Allard) 6111 Lausche Ave., 216-623-9933, facebook.com/saintmartincleveland.
