When: Sat., Aug. 11, 6 p.m. 2012
The film series on Westerns continues August 11 with Red River (1948), Howard Hawks’ classic tale about the cattle drive that opened the Chisholm Trail in 1867. John Wayne and Montgomery Clift star as father-son figures who vie for control of this massive undertaking. We will begin the evening with a short introductory video (including filming locations) and a few suggestions on what to watch for. After the screening we will share our reactions.
