Reel Science

When: Wed., Aug. 12 2015

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History has been spending the summer combining two things that are usually pinned against each other: science and the arts. The Reel Science film series uses Hollywood blockbusters to analyze scientific concepts (and answer the question we’ve all had while watching a movie: could this really happen in real life?). This week’s film is the 1990 sci-fi classic Total Recall. In the film, Arnold Shwarzenegger stars as an ordinary man with an unknown and mysterious past that he must travel to Mars to unravel in order to maintain his safety. In addition to the film screening, attendees are also welcome to enjoy happy hour specials at the Capitol Theatre bar. The screening will feature an introduction and post-film discussion with by Jason Davis, Museum Astronomer and Educator. It screens at 7 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre and tickets are $7.50. (Hedrick)
