Ribs & Bibs

Lots of napkins get a weekend workout at Akron's birthday party for the U.S.A.

Guitarist Kevin Eubanks slides off his sidekick chair on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno to headline this weekend's Rib, White & Blue Food Festival in Akron. The 9 p.m. concert follows an afternoon of shows, as patrons chow down on tasty slabs of ribs from a dozen chefs. The blowout is meant to be family-friendly and easy on the wallet. "We recognize that people are strained, and this is something we can do to keep the cost low," says spokesman Dave Lieber. "You can fill up and still go home with something left after bringing two twenties." The fest runs from noon to 11 p.m. today at Lock 3 Live!, 200 South Main Street in Akron. Admission is $5.
