River of Grass

When: Sun., May 22 2016

Well-known indie filmmaker Kelly Reichardt’s acclaimed 1994 feature, River of Grass, represents her first attempt at a full-length film, and it provides a solid aesthetic base for her future work. The film centers on a suburban housewife and a man she sort-of falls in love with. After they cause an accidental shooting, the couple decides to go on the run, thinking they’re murderers. The film’s only showing is tonight at 6:30 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $9, $7 for members. (Shively)
