Rock Writers

Back in the '90s, Touch and Go Records was one of the coolest labels around. Home to bands such as the Jesus and Lizard, Shellac and Girls Against Boys, it promoted aggressive acts that appealed to the thinking hard rock fan. Founder Tesco Vee, who initially published a punk zine that then turned into a label, has compiled the zine in his book Touch and Go: The Complete Hardcore Punk Zine '79-'83. He'll talk about the book today at the Lakewood record store My Mind's Eye. Steve Miller, who has written Detroit Rock City, an "uncensored history of five decades of rock 'n' roll in America's loudest city," will join him and discuss his own book. (Jeff Niesel)
