My favorite concert memory is U2 in October of 1987 at Cleveland Municipal Stadium, but not for the music. The music was great...Los Lobos and Little Steven opened, and U2 rocked, but what made it memorable was something that happened before U2 came on. There were technical issues, and U2 was late getting onstage. The crowd was getting restless. Then they started playing Beatles songs over the loudspeaker, and 80,000 people began singing along. It was one of those magical communal moments.
