Leave the man alone. He doesn't "owe" any of his fans, or the world, anything. No creative person does. We express ourselves, through whatever medium, for ourselves first, because we must. If people enjoy what is created, wonderful. But that doesn't mean the audience owns the creator, or that they have the right for the creator to keep giving the audience something, simply because it was enjoyed. Watterson is a person who has a right to privacy the same as your postman and grocery store clerk. Stalking him speaks to the character, or lack thereof, of the stalkers: insecurity, feeling one gains significance by encountering the talented or famous. Stop focusing on Watterson's accomplishments and go make your own. In short, get a life.
