Senses Fail/Such Gold/Real Friends/Major League

Senses Fail singer Buddy Nielsen was only 18 when the group started and the hardcore band benefited from being part of the burgeoning scene in its Ridgewood, New Jersey home. “Bands would play at VFW Halls and churches and bands like Thursday were around at that time,” he says. The group quickly signed a record deal and became a Warped Tour staple. But the band has subsequently been through numerous line-up changes and recently hit the reset button for its new album, Renacer, a more experimental and expansive album than anything in the band’s back catalogue. “Everything about the band has changed but its name,” Nielsen says. “I think it could have even been more exploratory, and we tried to reel it in a bit. We’ve basically reinvented the band.” (Jeff Niesel)
