Seasonal Special Happenings

Silly Stuff

When: Fri., July 18 2014

If you’re craving the animated antics of yesteryear, you won’t want to miss the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque series Still Looney After All These Years. The Cinematheque is presenting 60 Warner Bros. cartoons this summer; purists will appreciate the fact that they’ll be shown on 35mm film. Tonight’s 9:30 p.m. screening will feature the work of Chuck Jones from 1949 to 1961, including the debut of that dancing amphibian in One Froggy Evening, Elmer Fudd’s classic rendition of “Kill the Wabbit” in What’s Opera, Doc? and more. There’s another screening tomorrow at 5 p.m., and admission is $9. (Gonzalez)
