On the third season of The Bachelor
, Cleveland native Jen Schefft
hooked up with Andrew Firestone and moved to San Francisco with him. A couple months later, she left alone. Then she returned to reality television as The Bachelorette, where she once again rejected a nationally approved mate. Still solo, Schefft recently wrote Better Single Than Sorry, a reassuring hug for women who start to panic when they turn 30 and settle for the wrong person, she says. The book runs down a list of why its OK to be single, even as friends and family insist they have a perfect match for you. I love being independent and being able to do things on my own, says Schefft, who turned 30 last year. Theres nothing wrong with me because Im not with a man.
