Following the death of their father, sisters Olga, Masha, and Irina dream of returning to Moscow, the city of their youth, which represents civilization and culture. That’s the premise of Chekhov’s The Three Sisters, “a masterpiece of modern theatre that explores the universal — and sometimes comical — struggle to find meaning in our lives,” as it’s put in a press release announcing the Cleveland Play House production. It opens tonight at 7:30 at the Helen Rosenfeld Lewis Bialosky Lab. Tickets are $15.
