Snow Tha Product/Caskey/Brian Baker/Jus Mic

When: Sun., March 9, 9 p.m. 2014

On her first headlining tour, Snow Tha Product brings her rap game to the Grog. Throughout the history of rap and hip-hop, there haven't been a lot of female MCs. Snow's increasing popularity and strong presence aims to change that while providing an interesting take on modern feminism. Her rapping is hard and lyrically strong and, instead of relying on her sexuality to sell records, she leans on her skill. Good Nights & Bad Mornings 2: The Hangover, her latest mixtape, shows her placing more emphasis on her aggression as opposed to her melodic, catchy pop hooks from earlier releases. On the track "Cookie Cutter Bitches," she dismisses the homogenous feminine fashions with a series of baking metaphors. It’s the kind of meta-criticism you don’t offer get in hip-hop.
