Sonic Sessions: King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard

When: Mon., May 9, 8 p.m. 2016

The press release for Nonagon Infinity, the new album from hard rockers King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, describes the disc as “a high-octane rabbit hole of Motorhead and Sabbath-worthy riffs.” That serves as an apt description for an album which features infinitely looping tracks that seamlessly flow into one another. The final song even links straight back into the top of the opener. The wacky video for “Gamma Knife” finds the band performing in cloaks in an open field as part of some kind of strange cultish ritual. Expect that ritualistic element to come across tonight at the Rock Hall when the group casts its spell.

Price: $5.50
