Soul Clap & Dance-Off featuring 45 rpm DJ Jonathan Toubin

When: Sat., June 2, 9 p.m. 2012

Here’s a reason to put on your dancin’ shoes! Just four months ago, the Beachland Ballroom hosted Soul Meeting - A benefit for popular New York City DJ Jonathan Toubin. At the time of the benefit, Toubin was hospitalized and in serious condition after an accident in Portland, Oregon where a taxi cab crashed into his room and pinned him between the car and the rooms back wall. He underwent a week of surgeries and nearly died from lung complications before he emerged from a drug-induced haze. His doctors said it could take more than six months of rehabilitation before he could return to work. He lost hearing in both ears and his right hand was crippled with scar tissue. The Beachland Ballroom is thrilled to announce that Toubin, well known for his "New York Night Train" DJ series has recovered and brings his Soul Clap & Dance-Off back to Cleveland - Saturday, June 2, 2102 at the Beachland Ballroom & Tavern. Want to catch the Soul Clap? The concept is simple - all night dancing to the wild soul 45s of subterranean superstar NYC DJ Mr. Jonathan Toubin. In the middle, a $100 dance contest judged by a panel of local celebrities. Recession-friendly mass entertainment with a $6 door price, the dance party/spectacle is North America’s most popular soul party.
