The big top comes to Massillon today for the annual ArtSyrcus festival. But don’t expect a parade of clowns, elephants, and dancing poodles. Instead, the cavalcade of entertainers at the circus-themed bash includes belly dancers, acrobats . . . and painters. “We’ve got an eclectic mix of professional and amateur artists,” says Bili Kribbs, who started the visual- and performing-arts fest three years ago to showcase area talent. “It’s just snowballed.” The daylong event culminates in an hour-long extravaganza featuring yoga demos, improvisational comedy by Scared Scriptless, and music by funk group Soul Medicine and modern rockers Sevenish. “All the musicians will jam together,” says Nicole Garlando Berens, the show’s producer, “while actors act, yogis stretch, and dancers dance with paint on a massive floor canvas.”
