Talented Troupe

When: Sat., Nov. 8 2014

The internationally acclaimed Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company is considered one of Israel’s most prominent dance troupes. The troupe, which performs tonight at 8 and tomorrow afternoon at 3 at the Ohio Theatre, is known for its sophisticated choreography. It’s certainly not your typical dance group. The company will perform Artistic Director Rami Be’er’s “If At All,” an ambitious work set to tunes from Volcano Choire, H. Gudnadottir, Nine Inch Nails, Massive Attack, Murcof, Olafur Arnalds, M. Richter, J. Johansson, L. Einaudi and Ophir Leibovitch. According to a press release, the company’s lineage is “as old as Israel itself” and dates back to the establishment of the Mateh Asher Dance Studio in 1949 (KCDC was then created in 1970). Tickets start at $25. (Niesel)
