Terry Klausman: New Drawings

When: Fri., May 20 2016

Harris Stanton Gallery’s Cleveland location debuts Terry Klausman: New Drawings with an opening from 6 to 8:30 tonight. A gallery talk with Klausman and gallery owner Meg Harris will take place midway through the reception. Terry Klausman is a mostly self-taught artist. His career began in abstract welded and machined steel sculpture. Following a work-related accident that nearly severed a finger on his dominant hand, Klausman began drawing simple repetitive marks with his non-dominant hand, inspired by the minimalist artists he admired. The marks resembled barbed wire or stitches, which can be seen as a reflection of the healing process. New Drawings remains on view through June 18 during regular gallery hours. Free. (Usmani)
