A Spanish graduate student struggles to sever his ties with the Catholic Church in The Apostate, the latest drama from director Federico Veiroj (A Useful Life). The clerical bureaucracy, however, proves to be so Kafkaesque that he begins to lose his mind trying to extricate himself. The movie makes its Cleveland premiere tonight at 6:45 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque, where it screens again at 7:15 tomorrow night. Tickets are $10, $7 for students and Cinematheque members. (Niesel)
