The Bolshoi Ballet Gala Re-Opening

The program includes excerpts from Russian operas such as A Life for the Tsar (Ivan Susanin) by Glinka, Prince Igor by Borodin and Betrothal in a Monastery by Prokofiev. Excerpts from famous Russian ballets will also be part of the program: The "Appian Way" from Spartacus (Khachaturian) and extracts from Don Quixote (Minkus), Swan Lake (Tchaikovsky), The Golden Century (Shostakovich), The Flames of Paris (Asafiev). Opera and ballet excerpts will alternate with projections, video-installations and arias sung by Plácido Domingo, Dmitri Khvorostovski, Natalie Dessay, Angela Gheorghiu, Violeta Urmana.
