The Brave and the Bald

A local comedian laughs off his hairlessness.

Chris Hegedus sums up his comedy act as 70 percent truth and 30 percent exaggeration. "I'm just sarcastic, whiny, cocky, and self-conscious, all at the same time," says the 28-year-old Hegedus. "If you see me in a bar, that's how I am. If you see me at home, that's how I am." Until last year, Hegedus juggled comedy gigs with a full-time desk job at National City Bank. "It was between getting yelled at by everybody from 9-to-5 vs. having a couple beers, getting up onstage, and talking to people," he says. "It's a lot more therapeutic onstage."
