The Floorwalkers/MojoFlo/Uptowne Buddha

Several members of the Columbus neo-R&B and garage band the Floorwalkers grew up in Chardon so playing in Cleveland is like playing a hometown show. In 2010, the band even hosted a CD release show here in town when The Natural Road was issued. While the band’s 2008 debut, The Frankfort EP, is jam band affair as the group dabbles in everything from reggae to soul while putting forth a retro aesthetic culled from listening to the psychedelic rock of the ’70s, The Natural Road has more of a funk feel to it. Think Maroon 5 on musical steroids. It’s good stuff that makes for an energetic, fun live show. (Jeff Niesel)
