Seasonal Special Happenings

The Good Humor Man

When: Thu., Nov. 14 2013

Chicago is to comedians as Kenya is to marathon runners. The place just churns them out. John Caponera cut his comedic teeth in the Windy City before he started getting gigs at clubs around the country. He’s a regular in Cleveland, where he performs every few months, and he stars in his own sitcom, The Good Guy. He loves to impersonate former Chicago Cubs announcer Harry Caray but doesn’t really sound much like him. Still, he earns the laughs by making fun of the way Caray sounded drunk and often confused about what was going on in the game as he wondered aloud which bar he’d hit after the game. He’s at Hilarities tonight at 8 and performs at the club through Sunday. Tickets are $18 to $23. (Niesel)
