The Headhunters

With the Sultans of Bing. 9 p.m. Thursday, July 20, $22, the Grog Shop, 2785 Euclid Hts. Blvd., Cleveland Hts., 216-321-5588.

The Headhunters have been turning jazz, funk, and world music on its head since Herbie Hancock pulled them together to back him in '73 on Head Hunters, the first jazz album to go gold. Though Hancock's gone, and only two of the original members remain, the spirit's the same as ever. After some time off, they returned in '03 with Evolution Revolution, continuing their expansive musical explorations. Check out some East Bay funk on Cleveland's East Side.
